Volume two of the classic acid revival.

4 more fresh cuts inspired by a weekend driving around the Welsh countryside listening to Walker, Jammin’ Unit, Mike Ink and Bizz O.D.’s original acid output from Cologne back in the old days of 1992-1994, on a pilgrimage to an old party location on top of a hill in the middle of a forest called Brechfa. Buzzing from having visited (and taken photographs of) such a special party venue I came home and preceded to lash out track after track.

Featured in the second volume,

“Acid’s Coming Back”- A declaration of the start of a revival of the TRUE acid sound. Grinding acid at 125 BPM- something for the deeper dancefloor… 21st century Acid House.

“DPD Acid”- Multidrop Van driving Acid, Inspired by attempting to stay within impossible delivery windows in adverse weather conditions.

“Country And Western” – Taking us back to the old Spiral/Drop Bass days.

“An Open Letter To The Current Administration”- A two fingered salute to the Etonians who currently sit in the Palace Of Westminster, consolidating their Oligarchy at the expense of the average working person.

Originally inspired by a stay in the village of Sudeikiai, Lithuania, these 4 trax were just released on Serbian netlabel Teskoba Eskape a new sublabel of Teskoba. The first two tracks were actually written in the village of Sudeikiai, the later two inspired by the sound of the originals. As you can probably hear, there’s quite a bit of inspiration from both Maurizio and Wolfgang Voigt during his Studio One days. These are now available as a full quality download for free here:

Seems like most of the Techno groups on soundcloud are over-run with Cliched minimal wannabees, and progressive (regressive) music- so here is my response, a group curated and moderated by myself to showcase what I think is the best in new Techno and Electronic music. First noticed this in an article in “The Guide” magazine from The Guardian’s Saturday edition last weekend. So Phuture were pipped to the post by 4 years by a wedding musician from Bombay. In 1982 during a visit to the UK Singh bought some new Roland synthesisers and drum machines, including a Jupiter 8, TR 808 and the classic acid box, the Roland TB 303. On his return to India he set to work on his only set of original pieces, “Ten Ragas” being the result. I did suspect this to be some kind of new Aphex Twin or Ceephax Acid Crew Scam, but it appears to be legitimate. Now reissued, it’s available from all good outlets:
